Ranked duel
In a ranked duel you play the same puzzle as your opponent. The better total time wins: solve time plus penalty time for mistakes. Win and you climb the leaderboard; lose and you drop. You climb your own Elo ranking – per game and difficulty.
- On the start screen tap New duel and choose game and difficulty – or let the app suggest fitting disciplines.
- You get an opponent and play the same board in Action mode (penalty time).
- Whoever needs less total time wins. With exactly the same time it's a draw.
Two kinds of duel
Against a pace
You race the recorded run of a real opponent – their progress, their mistakes, their name. It feels live. If nobody is waiting, you set the pace: the next player takes on your time.
Live
You both play the same puzzle at the same time and see how the other one is getting on.
Weekly points & total points
- Weekly points: every week starts fresh. Earn points in ranked duels and the weekly special puzzle and climb the weekly leaderboard. The winners are crowned at the weekend – then everything starts over.
- Total points: your points across all games and difficulties – the overall leaderboard.
- Harder puzzles count for more. Every discipline and level has a weight – a hard Futoshiki is worth more than an easy Sudoku.
- Weekly points follow a puzzle's typical length: longer puzzles pay more per win, shorter ones less – so it stays fair per minute. Playing several disciplines pays off: each repeat of the same one this week counts a little less.
- Some weeks have a theme (for example “Futoshiki week”, when Futoshiki counts 1.5×).
Friends & invitations
Adding friends
- Open the Friends page and tap Share my code – or show the QR code for someone next to you to scan with their camera.
- The other person scans the code or types the 8 characters and sends you a request.
- You accept the request – and you're friends.
With friends you see what they achieved (new bests, levels, streaks), can cheer their runs and get three shared tasks every week. There is nothing to win – it's simply something you do together.
Private duel with a friend
Pick Invite to duel on your friend, then game and difficulty. You play first and set the time. Your friend then solves exactly the same puzzle whenever they like – whoever needs less time wins. You never have to be online together.
The “With friends” tile on the start screen also creates a duel via code or link – as a live duel (everyone starts together from a lobby, up to four players) or as a challenge everyone solves later.
Inviting friends to Sudoku+
Use “Invite friends” to share a link. When your friend joins as a new player, both of you get XP.
Fair play
Duels and leaderboards are meant to stay fair, so the app checks runs for anything unusual. If you just want to solve puzzles in peace, use Free play.
